Garlic Prawns and Olive & Sardines Spaghetti

I wasn't sure what I was going to cook for dinner. I know that it was going to be pasta but didn't know what kind ( I cook pasta 'coz it's my little boy's favorite). Didn't have time to go to the groceries anymore... so I invaded the cabinets and found canned Spanish sardines and olives...and thought, why not?! So I have something for dinner.

Then my mom-in-law came home with fresh prawns from the market with a lunch take out for me (KFC meal, this comes with 7up). She asked me if I wanna cook the prawns.. and yes! I said YES! I love cooking prawns especially if its fresh from the market. I decided to make it simple, Garlic Prawns. I made use of whatever's available including the 7up.

Marinated the prawns with the taken-home 7up... it made the prawns very tasty sweet.

Puttanesca

Pasta is the easiest dish to cook.

Last night I made my ultimate favorite pasta dish, Puttanesca.

Puttanesca literally means a whore's spaghetti... my professor said that Puttanesca were cooked by gypsys and placed near their windows to attract men... this is because Puttanesca has a distinct smell (maybe the smell of anchovies with capers and oregano). Men would go over the gypsy's place, eat the pasta and ...... the rest is history.

I don't remember attracting any men cooking this pasta. hehehe

Seafood Pesto Pasta

Leftover ribbon pasta from last night was our dinner.
Pesto was the base sauce for tonight's pasta dish. It was sauteed with bell peppers, tuna chunks and shrimps.

Roasted Pork Ribs and Pasta Salad

I didn't know what to cook for tonight's dinner when I went to the kitchen. So I checked what was available in the pantry and saw ribbon pasta.... what else could be easier than my dad's version of his pasta salad? I had my salad but what's for the main course? ta da! I found whole "liempo" or pork ribs with a little of the meat side still attached. Roasted it in the oven with some garlic, onions and tomatoes.... And the dinner was served.

They are known for pizzas and pasta....but what happened to their pasta?.... honestly, I was kinda disappointed, it didn't taste like what I expected it to be, I was looking for the hmmmm factor but.... anyways everything else were delicious especially their Gelato.... had gelato even if it was freezing cold..brrr
